Boab fae the Barras - Thought for the week

Formula 1 has pit stops, basketball has time outs, and football has half time…the common theme? The chance to rethink, recharge and then recommit. Jesus “got up and left the house and went off to a lonely place and prayed there.”  Jesus reminds us that before we can continue to “step up” to what is being asked of us, we have to “step back” to recuperate our energy. Perhaps we can be likened to vending machines: people come to us and take from us. They are “recharged” by what they get, but we are depleted. Unless we restock our “machine”, we won’t be able to serve anyone. So this week, step back in order to be able to  step up to what God is asking of you! Boab.

He was canonized in 1839 by Pope Gregory XVI and declared a Doctor of the Church
